The story with this thing is that Phil from Rock Bottom Records asked us to do a record for a 7" series with a handful of bands (Autistic Youth, The Humanoids, and OWTH) and we were stoked to be apart of it. Since we had to record for the Euro s/t 7", we figured we could slam these out in the recording session. Well the 7" series never happened but Phil still put in the work and released the 7" (after a failed attempt with the art work the 1st time). I think overall this record is really fucking hard. The title track has to be my favorite and I really love the ending to that song. "Mocking You" I think is also great but when we played it with Michael, Bobby's replacement, we knew we had to re-record it to give it that special touch. Still, I think Bobby's version is decent. "Same Things" bothers me though because if we just spent a little more time on it, we could have really polished it to make it a hit. All in all, I think this record is pretty great. I only have two complaints. First, the center labels were not fixed, which we asked Phil to do several times (stupidly pixilated) and secondly, nobody really knows it exists. Still no ill will towards Phil and I think he is a great guy.

PRESSING INFO:

400 on Black

100 on Wolverine Yellow

SONG TITLES:

Mocking You

Life Number Two

Same Things

CD VERSION OUT ON MAGIC BULLET RECORDS

LP VERSION OUT ON LIFE IS A RAPE (U.S.A.) & TAKEN BY SURPRISE (EUROPA)

FRIENDS WITH A DEMON

(You have to download the songs individually, sorry.)

This album is different from anything we have ever done. Aesthetically and musically. We recorded in a real studio and we did not just rip the art from some shitty magazine. With that said, it is hard to swallow all in one take. This was the first and last album Michael was on. He also sang on a few songs, which is also a new (since Reuben and I always sing). I think this lp is awesome and I really love everything about it. From the first song to the last, you can hear the chemistry and the connection all of us made musically on the album. Every hit coincided with every note perfectly and in my eyes, showed how well we all worked with each other. This is funny though because Reuben and I were not getting a long at all. In fact, we hated each other and some of the lyrics in our songs clearly show the disdain for each other. I think you can sense it because unlike the I HAVE GHOSTS lp, Reuben and I don't really sing at all at the same time. It is usually always Michael and Reuben or me and Reuben. But the one song where we do sing together is probably one of the strongest songs on the lp, so this might have been a bad thing on the album. Still, the different approaches to songs (due to Michael's influence in the band and him bringing in most of the material to work with) really forced us to work differently. I have to say the strongest songs on the album are track 2-4 and 7-9. My complaints with the album are that I think the lyrics by all three of us were pretty weak. We got too lost in perfecting the songs that it is obvious we kind of half-assed the lyrics. The lyrics that are the strongest are definitely "Rusty Hooks" and "Discontent" and "Parasite." I also don't like how clean sounding the guitars are. I wish that it was noisier, like on the previous records. Maybe a little less more controlled feedback and it just everywhere. I also wish that there was more dual singing, like on the previous albums. Still, all four of us put our all's into it and I think most of us were happy with the results. Nothing is ever perfect, but in the end, I am not embarrassed to show my friends. It is a shame that things couldn't continue but worse things have happened to the band and we recovered alright.

PRESSING INFO FOR LIFE'S A RAPE:

100 on Red for Mailorder

100 on Puke Brown with Silk Screened Dust Sleeve for Tour

500 on Black

PRESSING INFO FOR TAKEN BY SURPRISE:

200 on Silver for Tour/Mailorder

800 on Black

SONG TITLES:

Crash Course

Discontent

Pathetic Existence

Rusty Hooks

Ball of Bread

Growing Up

Failure

Idiot

Mocking You

Someone I Used to Know

Parasite

Friends with a Demon

Steven M. Both labels were great to work with and I really hope one day I am able to work with either Sven/Yellowdog or Andreas/Thrashbastard again. I am sure there are places in Europe to find the 7"s but I don't know about the U.S. We sold out quickly and our 30 we brought home sold out within minutes.

PRESSING INFO:
100 on Red
400 on Black

SONG TITLES:
Burning Fields
Hard To Please

LIVE ON KCPR

Another tape release that sold out quickly. Kevin from NORTH LINCOLN put this out on his great label TAPES NOT BOMBS and did a wonderful job with the packaging. This show was our first show of our U.S. tour and was pretty lousy. The kids there weren't that into us but they still held us up and were nice dudes. My only complaint was that the free "food" they gave us was tortillas and tapitio hot sauce. And minus a few there, most of the kids were mall punks so we just told them that our songs were MISFIT songs and they got all stoked.

PRESSING INFO:
100 tapes

Song Titles:
My Hell
Fair Weather Friend
Forget My Name
I Have Ghosts

MY HELL

Most of this 12" ep was written during our U.S. tour. All of us were pretty upset with how the "I Have Ghosts and I Have Ghosts" release came out (see below for reasons), so it was important that this record come out perfect. I think the songs on this record are pretty boss and the lyrics are our best yet. I still think, like our other releases that it was rushed. It's probably my fault for just wanting it to get done but I wish we could have worked out the kinks before the final master. I still think it is a strong release for a 12" ep and I am happy with the overall production. Record is now Sold out but is going to be repressed in Europe on one sided vinyl and silkscreened cover by TAKEN BY SURPRISE record. It was released by Colin on LIFE'S A RAPE.

PRESSING INFO: 25 on Clear Green
100 on Hulk Green
400 on Black Panther Black

SONG TITLES:
My Hell
Erase Today
Interior Motives
Fair Weather Friend
Undressing You With My Mind

I HAVE GHOSTS AND I HAVE GHOSTS

So much bullshit happened with this record. First of all, the recording just, well is just not very good. The bass and bass drum on this record are way too low and my vocals (Steven) are weak and lack any intensity. Also, Ronald from GOING UNDERGROUND RECORDS was originally suppose to do it with my ex-label mate BAKERSFIELD and long story short, it never worked out. I am still very close with Ronald and we both admit we handled it wrong. So the record came as a three-way split release because it had to be out before our U.S. tour and was again, rushed. The three labels were MAGIC BULLET (CD AND LP), MISM, and 16OH.

PRESSING INFO:
100 on clear
900 on black

SONG TITLES:
BAKERSFIELD
CASHING IN
NO EYE CONTACT
ANGRY AT THE RAIN
FORGET MY NAME
FAKE LIFE
HATING THE SUN
I HAVE GHOSTS

I WANT THE WORLD

This is my favorite record that we have done. Everything I wanted on a record was on this record. I think these songs, the aesthetics, and the mastering was perfect. My only complaint was the hub design, but I still think that's nitpicking. BAD TEETH is probably my favorite LOSER LIFE song of all time. This is our best record and I am very proud of it. Released by LIFE'S A RAPE and I think he has maybe a few left.

PRESSING INFO:
300 WHITE
700 BLACK

SONG TITLES:
I WANT THE WORLD
DEAD INSIDE
BAD TEETH

THINGS WILL NEVER CHANGE

Our first 7" that was released by both GOING UNDERGOUND RECORDS and BAKERSFIELD. We were a new band when we recorded this and for a debut 7" I think it holds its own. You can tell our lyrics were a tad bit juvenile but are still better than most. I think the art is awesome but I wish it was pressed on actual cover material and not some random paper. But it was our first record and I really don't care.

PRESSING INFO:
25 copies on TOTALLY RACIST RECORDS cover
1st pressing: 600 on Black
2nd pressing: 500 on Black

SONG TITLES:
Things Will Never Change
It's All Over

DEMO TAPE

So when the band started we went through a plethora of members. We finally got Bill in the band (bass player) and we were desperate for a singer. Not being able to find anyone, I just decided to sing and was the only singer at first. I wasn't to fond of my voice but it grew on me. We finally got Reuben (other singer/guitar player) after this demo and the songs started to sound much better. For a demo, I think it's pretty good but it's far from what we sound like now. Still, it's better than most and the recording is alright too.

PRESSING INFO:
about 50 homemade tapes with a "poster" and lyric sheet

SONG TITLES:
SO MUCH SHIT
REASONS TO DRIVE WITHOUT A SEATBELT
LIVE THIS WAY
FUCK FRIENDS
NOMAD
WRITING THE BOOK ON BECOMING A MONSTER
